Korean skincare products featuring SecretKey White Pearl Illuminating Skin Booster

For the longest time ive been in search of skin serums to address my current skincare needs. My skin isnt the same as it use to be 20 years ago and pregnancy definitely is a big contributor to the change.
Ive become interested in asian skincare products for the last 2 years being jealous of the asian women for their natural beauty and having such beautiful skin with and without makeup.
I wish i could say the same for myself but unfortunately i wasnt that lucky. Needless to say ive over the past year tried some korean skincare products most recently being the White Pearl Illuminating skin booster from SecretKey.

When i see the word 'illuminating' i think of 'glowing' beautiful skin and of course i say to myself ' i gotta try it' as most women are after the infamous 'glow' regarding skin. So i decided to purchase the white pearl illuminating skin booster and put it to the test. I have to say first off ive only been using this product for a week but just wanted to put a post out due to genetic impatience:) Now typically, my skin even in my late teens never ever responded well to gel-like cleansers, moisturisers, serums it just rejected it as it always dried my skin out instantly and left it feeling very tight straight after application, so i guess i was taking a risk purchasing this product sort of knowing that it wasnt a cream or lotion but a gel. Hence the trial period but i maybe do another review/post after about 4 weeks of usage just to get a better result or not. Anyway lets get to it.

THE CLAIM:

Like alot of skincare products and ranges even makeup, it always claims to deliver miracles regarding, glowing skin, instant illumination and words of that effect and as women we gravitate towards anything that can either eliminate skin imperfections that are either genetic or ageing has been very unkind to us haha but everyone expects something out of these skincare products and we put our trust (and money) into them. Following are 'cutout' of the SecretKey White Pearl Illuminating Skin booster, regarding ingredients and what it claims to deliver. Note: some are in the korean language but it does mention in english some of the ingredients.

MY CURRENT SKIN TYPE:

  • Normal to Combination ( slightly oily in T-Zone and dry to very dry around cheeks, side of nose and around mouth)
  • hyperpigmentation around top bridge of nose and under eye area on both eyes
  • redness and open pores around nose area and around mouth
  • dark spots
  • under-eye circles
With that out of the way lets get onto the product itself. I took photos of packaging ie boxing, product packaging and swatches of the product.

PACKAGING:

Product came in simple silver boxing nothing too over-the-top and actually im a fan of simplicity when it comes to packaging/boxing so i was sold on that.

PRODUCT PACKAGING:

The product is presented in a 150ml clear bottle with screw top lid. Call me fussy, i lean towards the pump bottles for skincare products as im a little rough when pouring things out of bottles i dont have good control hence the pump ensures the right amount and allows me better control but it wasnt a deal- breaker. Which leads me to the next thing.

TEXTURE:

The booster is a light gel-like consistency or texture but not too runny which i  like of course and is clear.
As shown in the photo it sits nicely on the skin. However upon application, it did feel a little sticky not alot though.

HOW I APPLY:

I apply booster after cleansing and toning then night-moisturiser after that. I would never wear this product without applying moisturiser straight after.
I pour a little onto my hands, about the size of a 10 cent coin, rub together a little then gently press onto skin starting from both sides of my face next to nose and slowly and gently pressing product outwards making sure to spread booster over cheeks and under jawline on both sides of face.
Then a put a little more and apply again on my forehead starting from center then gently pressing outwards along forehead. Repeating the same on chin area lastly and using any leftover product.

MY THOUGHTS THUS FAR:

As mentioned earlier i had only been using this product for just over a week and yes i know, to gain or see any real results you have to at least be consistently using any skincare product for minimun of 6 months but again like i mentioned earlier im very impatient (smiling like a chestchire cat) so im just gonna get it out there regardless.

I did not experience any dryness or tightness. I did see a little 'glow' or 'illumination' not a terrible amount but enough to give you a healthy glow i think it helped i applied my nighttime moisturiser straight after. It was easy to apply and apart from being a little sticky it spread quite nicely and it helped that i 'pressed' it on rather than 'rub' vigorously. I apply all my serums, essential oils and moisturisers with that 'pressing' technique for me i think my skin absorbs the product more easily and effectively and i think it reduces further dragging and pulling out and down of the skin. After all im trying to prevent further damage not increase it. Here's a pic of me with the SecretKey illuminating booster on. My hand was a little shakey trying to take self-portrait and hold camera phone at same time:)

I cleansed, applied toner, then applied White Pearl Illuminating Skin booster, then moisturiser. I do not have any tinted moisturiser, bb cream or cc cream or any foundation over my skin. This is my skin cleansed, toned and moisturised only. You can still see redness around my nose and mouth area and if i had a HD camera i would zoom in and you would be able to see my skin more closely but for now this is all i have. You can see a little glow on my cheeks and cheekbone area and on my forehead also as that where i apply it the most.

Overall i think ill continue using this product more and see if its versatile and can be used with other serums or moisturisers i might pair it up with. I forgot to mention this booster does and can be bought as part of a SecretKey White Pearl skincare set and can also be purchased from ebay (which is where i purchased my product from). I will provide the links where i bought the illuminating booster from and also if available where you can also purchase the booster as part of the SecretKey skincare set if youre thinking of trying this product or product range out:) White Pearl Illuminating Skin Booster and SecretKey White Pearl illuminating 4 SET 5free system

Park Hyo Shin 081121 Part1 - The Last Time

Park Hyo Shin The Last time (Eric Benet Cover) I never tire of this song Park Hyo shin singing cover of Eric Benets' The Last time on the Lee hana Peppermint show. No disrespect to Eric Benet, because that guy can sing,no question but Park Hyo shins' version gave me 'goosies'. Only Luther Vandross could do that whenever i heard him sing or watched him perform on stage.
Pure vocal perfection Mr PHS, hurry up and come out of the military haha everyones waiting.
